Hagee: Blaming the Jews

The media have poked gingerly so far at presumed Republican nominee John McCain's toxic minister, the Reverend John Hagee. Today's NY Times sticks a toe in to test the waters noting Hagee's despicable description of the Catholic church as "the great whore" featured in the Book of Revelations. As for Hagee's assertions that the Vatican collaborated with Hitler, he has this to say by way of apology:

“In my zeal to oppose anti-Semitism and bigotry in all its ugly forms, I have often emphasized the darkest chapters in the history of Catholic and Protestant relations with the Jews.

“In the process, I may have contributed to the mistaken impression that the anti-Jewish violence of the Crusades and the Inquisition defines the Catholic Church. It does not.”

In other words: THE JEWS MADE ME DO IT.
