    Manning Marable is Professor of Public Affairs, Political Science, History and African-American Studies at Columbia University. He is one of America's most influential and widely read scholars. His biography of Malcom X, A Life of Reinvention, is due out in 2009 from Viking Press. Dr. Marable is the Director of the Malcom X Project at Columbia University.

    Bob Moser is the editor of The Texas Observer, a contributing writer for The Nation, and the author of Blue Dixie: Awakening the South's Democratic Majority.
