    Dave Taylor is a band leader and bass trombone virtuoso.  His latest album, Red Sea, has just been released by TzadikTaylor currently performs with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, The Charles Mingus Big Band, Eos Orchestra, The NY Chamber Symphony, The Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, The Michelle Camillo Band, Areopagitica (a brass trio in residence at Mannes College), The Bob Mintzer Band, the Daniel Schnyder, David Taylor, and the Kenny Drew Jr Trio. He is on the faculties of the Manhattan School of Music and Mannes College.

    Abe Velez talks with Dave Taylor about his latest album, Red Sea, in which he blends original compositions, hasidic melodies, improvisations and interpretations of the the cantorial music of  Pierre Pinchik (Pinchas Segal) (1893?-1971). 

    Also on the broadcast, cuts from the newly released album, Exotic on the Speaker (JDub), from Soulico, a 4-member DJ crew from Tel Aviv and from Hope and Destruction (Tzadik), the debut album from Eyal Maoz's Edom.
