    Although commending sister-station KPFT's concern with allegations of anti-Semitism, Beyond the Pale believes that KPFT's decision to turn over regular air time to the local Israeli Consulate is misguided.  KPFT dangerously conflates Jews with Israel, and anti-Semitism with criticism of Israel.  Moreover it is journalistically unacceptable to give air time to a government agency that is charged with providing positive spin (i.e., propaganda) to events and policies.

    Bernie Sanders is Vermont's junior Senator.  He was elected in November, 2006.  Previously he was a member of the House of Representatives, for 16 years, and Mayor of Burlington Vt from 1981 to 1989.  He describes himself as a social democrat.
